Job Summary
Plan and prepare differentiated instruction for primary grade students, utilizing Academic Improvement Plans and Individual Education Plans to meet diverse learning needs. Deliver active learning experiences through varied teaching methods, hands-on projects, and technology integration while maintaining a safe, orderly environment. Assess student achievement regularly, interpret standardized test results, and communicate progress to students, parents, and colleagues. Collaborate with peers, administrators, and families to support student growth and address behavioral or emotional concerns. Establish and implement an annual Professional Development Plan to enhance instructional skills and curriculum alignment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution
- Valid Florida teacher certification in appropriate area
- Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening
- Knowledge of the prescribed curriculum including emergent and early literacy
- Knowledge of child growth and development and especially of characteristics of students/children in the age group assigned
- Basic understanding and knowledge of current technology
- Knowledge of learning styles
- Knowledge of current trends, research and best practices related to education
- Knowledge of School Board policies and practices as they relate to teaching
- Knowledge of Florida Educator Accomplished Practices and Teacher Competencies
- Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects
