Job Summary
Maximize music instruction quality by delivering private lessons and shows while ensuring students master fundamentals beyond song memorization. Create and document thoughtful lesson plans, then communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress. Interact visibly with students and families, pitch in during canceled lessons, and assist with rehearsals and basic school maintenance. Adhere strictly to the SOR Code of Conduct, safety policies, and the Monitoring and Supervision policy. Requires 4+ years of professional teaching or performance experience, strong music theory knowledge, and excellent customer relations skills. Ideal candidate is a working musician with formal training, possessing a patient, flexible, and positive demeanor.
Required Qualifications
- 4 + years' experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
- Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design
- Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people
- Strong organizational skills
- Very strong customer relations skills
- Resourceful and good problem-solver
- Works well under pressure
- Good judgment a must
- Passion for teaching
- Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training
- Enthusiastic, flexible, patient, and positive demeanor
