Job Summary
K-12 Music Teacher responsible for designing and delivering music instruction aligned with state standards and district curriculum. Creates a positive learning environment, delivers engaging and rigorous music lessons, employs diverse teaching practices to meet students’ needs, assesses student performance and maintains grades/attendance, manages classroom behavior, communicates progress to parents and district staff, and ensures health, safety, and confidentiality of records. Requires a bachelor’s degree and Florida music education certification or eligibility; maintains certifications and engages in ongoing professional development; position emphasizes collaboration with families, adherence to district policies, and a commitment to equitable, high-quality music education.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree
- Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Music or eligibility for Florida Temporary Music Certificate is required
- Language Skills: Reads, analyzes, and interprets documents; writes and presents effectively
- Mathematical Skills: basic math essentials for planning
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
