Job Summary
Plan, coordinate, and execute the parish worship music program for weekly worship services and special liturgical events. Serve as the primary liaison between clergy and musical ensembles to ensure music aligns with theological themes and mission. Responsibilities include liturgical planning and music selection, directing and rehearsing ensembles, recruiting volunteers, scheduling, music library management, copyright compliance, and overseeing audio/visual needs; must engage diverse groups and uphold parish faith and safety policies; travel up to 10% local and 10% overnight.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in music, liturgy, or Sacred Music (preferred) or related field
- 2–5 years of experience in a religious music setting, specifically with leadership or administrative duties
- Proficiency in at least one primary instrument
- Conducting: ability to lead choral and instrumental ensembles with clear technique
- Technology: familiarity with church management software and digital audio workstations (DAWs) for track preparation
- Interpersonal: ability to work with volunteers of varying skill levels with patience and encouragement
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- MS Office Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to inspire a team, resolve conflicts, and maintain high morale
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion
- Background check required
