Job Summary
Conduct on-the-job training in museum conservation under professional guidance, including venue management, conservation, collection management, and organizing exhibitions and education programmes. Work 44 hours per week, potentially including irregular hours, weekends, and public holidays. Maintain status as a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment. Submit a detailed CV by 02-09-2026 to the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, which nurtures museum professionals for Hong Kong through this non-renewable contract.
Required Qualifications
- Permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment
- Bachelor's degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent, majoring in Conservation, Applied Chemistry / Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or equivalent
- Level 2 result in the Use of English (UE) paper and Level 1 result in the Use of Chinese (UC) paper in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent
- Level 4 in Chinese Language of the HKDSEE
- Grade D in Chinese Language and Culture or Chinese Language and Literature of the HKALE
- Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE
- Grade C or above in Use of English of the HKALE
- Grade C or above in English Language of the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) (GCE A Level)
- Overall band of 6.5 or above with no subtest score below band 6 obtained in the Academic Module of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) within the two-year validity period of the test result
- Original copies of the official transcripts, certificates and the results in the CRE for verification
- Photocopies of the required document for record purposes
- Appointment on a non-renewable contract for a period up to 31 March 2028 on Non-civil Service Contract Terms
- Subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485)
