Museum Education Program Coordinator

Job Summary
Facilitate in-house trips, including orientations, escorting, and interactive programming, while managing bookings, scheduling, and invoicing for educational visits. Lead tours of Churchill Downs and coordinate outreach to schools, libraries, and retirement centers, sometimes requiring overnights, extended days, and weekends. Assist in managing the annual student art show, create special projects to widen museum reach, and promote education programs at community events and conferences. Maintain the quality and cleanliness of the Education prop collection and storage. Work alongside the Education team to support marketing and communications needs, research programming trends, and collaborate cross-departmentally. Requires a valid Kentucky driver's license, statewide travel, and willingness to work additional hours during Derby season, FFA week, and the National FFA conference.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in the education field
- Two years of relevant experience in an educational or cultural setting
- Valid Kentucky driver's license
- Comfortable with statewide travel in support of educational initiatives
- Non-standard workday hours during the spring and fall sessions
- Ability to navigate a crowded area
- Ability to handle a challenging workload
