Job Summary
Clinical Dietitian and CDCES provides evidence-based medical nutrition therapy and diabetes education to patients with Type 1, Type 2, gestational, and prediabetes in inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include comprehensive nutritional assessments, ADA-aligned medical nutrition therapy plans, carbohydrate counting, CGM and insulin-pump data interpretation, delivery of Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES), and collaboration with endocrinologists and primary care providers. Requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition or related field, active RD/RDN credential, state licensure, CDCES credential preferred, and 2–3 years of clinical diabetes experience; supports ADA and joint-commission certifications and program development; 40 hours per week; affiliated with MUSC system.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential
- Active state licensure/certification as a Dietitian
- CDCES credential highly preferred (or eligible and actively tracking hours to sit for the exam within 1 year)
- Minimum of 2–3 years of clinical experience with diabetes populations in outpatient, endocrine clinic, or community health settings
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting data from major CGM platforms (e.g., Dexcom, Abbott Libre) and pump software
