Job Summary
As a Munitions Response Quality Control Geophysicist, you will lead geophysical planning aspects of munitions response projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards and federal regulations. You will support the acquisition of DAGCAP certification, manage data handling processes, oversee project staff, and coordinate with project managers to resolve technical and contractual issues. Your role involves comprehensive knowledge of geophysical methodologies and technologies, including advanced geophysical classification and data validation techniques, as well as strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, geophysics or closely related field or equivalent experience and proficiency with geophysical methods related to munitions response
- 8 years of recent and directly relevant industry experience in data management and applied geophysics supporting munitions response
- 3 years experience in Advanced Geophysical Classification
- Experience supporting a company to successfully obtain DAGCAP certification
Desired Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline, Computer, Environmental Science, Geology, Geophysics, Biology, Chemistry or Engineering and 10 years of recent and directly relevant industry experience in data management and applied geophysics supporting munitions response
Additional Requirements
- Employee must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
- Specific physical requirements include, but are not limited to, hiking, operating geophysical instruments in person-portable mode, walking, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions.
