Job Summary
Perform minor repairs to mechanical and infrastructure, including carpentry, plumbing, and installing pipe fixtures. Maintain grounds, landscaping, and paint buildings; open and close Town facilities; and repair sidewalks and outdoor surfaces. Pick up and deliver goods using the town vehicle; remove ice and snow; and perform custodial or security work as directed. Work in/around the Town with reporting and meetings at Town Hall and the Public Works Facility. Maintain regular attendance and operate safely while interacting courteously with the public, co-workers, and supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) to two (2) years in skilled trades and building and equipment maintenance, preferred
- Some custodial skills
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Knowledge of Infrastructure maintenance and repairs
- Knowledge of Operation of water and sewer infrastructure
- Knowledge of Town operations and safety protocols
- Knowledge of Other trade areas
- Skill in Carpentry
- Skill in Plumbing
- Skill in Lawn
- Skill in Grounds care
- Skill in Painting
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to accurately follow all directives and safety protocols
- Ability to interact effectively and courteously with the public, co-workers, and management
- Possession and retention of a valid motor vehicle operator's license
- A good driving record
- Must pass testing for substance abuse and criminal background investigation as required by DOT
- Manual labor, potentially lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds
- To work with minimal supervision

- Must be able to paint the interior and exterior of buildings and equipment
- Must be able to open and close Town facilities as directed
- Must be able to repair and clean sidewalks and other outdoor surfaces
- Must be able to pick up and/or deliver goods and equipment as required, using the town provided vehicle
- Must be able to remove ice and snow from sidewalks and other areas
