Job Summary
Municipal Wastewater Process Design Engineer responsible for planning and designing portions of complex wastewater projects within Ramboll’s Municipal Water/Wastewater Treatment Group. Responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting reports, drawings, and data; determining applicable local, state, and federal regulatory requirements; preparing and presenting design calculations, field data results, and cost estimates; communicating with external stakeholders (vendors, subcontractors, regulators); supporting proposals and fee estimates; mentoring early career staff; applying advanced engineering fundamentals and software tools to Wastewater Treatment and hydraulic engineering; collaborating in multidisciplinary teams; and traveling as needed for project requirements. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality work, supporting proposal development, and contributing to growth through sustainable, client-focused engineering solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
- 10+ years of qualifying engineering experience in Wastewater Treatment engineering/design
- Professional Engineering certification or licensure in primary state of residence/operation
