Job Summary
Lead multidisciplinary teams in the planning, design, and delivery of complex municipal infrastructure and site development projects, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and high quality while meeting client scope, budget, and schedule. Responsibilities include directing design and delivery of potable water transmission and distribution, sanitary sewer, stormwater, roadway improvements, site development, and parks/recreation infrastructure; preparing engineering basis of design reports, feasibility studies, preliminary and final design documents including construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates; serving as primary client liaison, developing scopes of work, negotiating contracts, presenting technical findings, and maintaining responsive communication throughout the project lifecycle; managing budgets and schedules; coordinating with subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance; providing QA/QC on design deliverables; mentoring junior engineers, EITs, CAD designers, and project staff; participating in business development and proposal preparation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with at least 3 years in project management overseeing municipal infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience with the design and permitting of municipal infrastructure projects including water, sewer, stormwater, and roadway improvements
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD Civil3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD and other modeling tools
- Strong understanding of municipal codes, MAG standards, and permitting processes and compliance
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with responsibility for technical deliverables, budgets, and schedules
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships
