Municipal Engineer

Job Summary
Prepare and review contract documents, apply sound technical judgment to maintain high standards, and contribute to the design and planning of municipal infrastructure projects for cities, towns, and developers. Conduct site visits, field assessments, and infrastructure investigations while providing technical input during construction and reviewing contractor work for compliance. Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, design drawings, cost estimates, and tender documents to coordinate project deliverables and communicate with clients and stakeholders. Uphold excellence through quality control practices and collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical solutions. Share technical knowledge, contribute to internal learning opportunities, and help improve tools, workflows, and design standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure and project delivery
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia
- Experience contributing to the design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects
- Working knowledge of Atlantic Canadian regulations and municipal standards
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to maintain attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment
