Job Summary
Municipal Accountant III in the Airports Department of the City of Oklahoma City responsible for reconciling fixed and surplus assets, reviewing four major service contracts monthly, and performing interim financial reporting, with involvement in accounts payable. Requires strong knowledge of governmental accounting standards (GAAP, GASB, FASB), ability to supervise staff, and experience analyzing financial data; background checks including TSA requirements apply. Preferred candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and have experience with fixed asset duties, governmental accounting environments, and year-end activities. Veterans preference is available for eligible applicants.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of governmental accounting experience or five (5) years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge of advanced accounting concepts, techniques and principles (GAAP, GASB, FASB).
- Ability to supervise clerical and professional personnel.
