Job Summary

Advanced Process Control (APC) Applications Engineer role at ExxonMobil's Bengaluru Technology Center. You will sustain and enhance Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Real Time Optimization (RTO) applications across global facilities, assess improvement opportunities, and collaborate with site personnel to maximize unit performance. The role involves providing expert technical support, technical leadership, and mentorship to drive cross-functional competency in MPC/RTO, developing cutting-edge tools to improve delivery effectiveness, staying current with industry standards, and leveraging APC knowledge within downstream refining, petrochemical, or upstream contexts. A formal degree in chemical engineering (or related field) and 3+ years of hands-on APC/MPC/RTO experience are required, with willingness to work shifts. Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on work experience in implementing or supporting Advanced Process Control (APC) applications - Model Predictive Control (MPC) or Real Time Optimization (RTO) in downstream refining, petrochemical industry, or upstream facilities
  • Strong technical knowledge and proven expertise in Model Predictive Control (MPC) using AspenTech DMC, RMPCT, or PACE across the application lifecycle
  • Undergraduate or post graduate degree in chemical engineering or a related field, demonstrated through formal education or substantial professional experience
  • Comfortable working shifts (morning/evening)
  • Knowledgeable about petrochemical assets or oil and gas operations coupled with hands-on process control engineering experience
  • Experienced in independently tuning, designing, and implementing process control schemes with good working knowledge on the DCS
  • Highly experienced in collaborating across teams and departments while working remotely with a strong focus on teamwork to drive central engineering improvements
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal skills, adjusting communication style as needed to work with individuals at all levels and teams situated across the globe
