Job Summary
Design and implement lesson plans conforming to the charter curriculum, ensuring modifications for diverse student learning styles. Teach instructional subjects per California Department of Education guidelines while collaborating with special education staff on Individualized Education Programs. Produce formal and informal assessments to evaluate student success and coordinate extracurricular duties as assigned. Manage classroom organization, control behavior per the student handbook, and establish rapport with parents and colleagues through conferences. Gather required reports, file records, and participate in faculty meetings. Enrich skills through professional development activities while abiding by state and charter regulations.
Required Qualifications
- BA or BS (as appropriate) degree in subject matter
- California Commission on Teacher Credentialing credential, certificate, permit or other documentation equivalent to what a teacher in other public schools would be required to hold
- Highly qualified in core courses as defined in the section titled 'NCLB and Credentialing Requirements'
- Understanding of subjects assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Capability of instructing students and managing their behavior
- Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
