Job Summary
Conduct cardiovascular and radiology procedures including angio, complex vascular, and neuro interventional work while assisting the Radiologist/PA. Prepare patients by reviewing history, positioning, and cleaning sites; interpret test results and report abnormalities. Administer contrast media and medications within scope, maintain equipment and lab areas, and ensure compliance with radiation safety and regulatory standards. Work evening shifts Monday through Thursday with occasional on-call rotation for overnight and weekend coverage. Requires Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program completion; no prior experience needed.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program
- Must work at least 30% of FTE in secondary modality to be eligible for a Multiple Modality job
- Must be able to work evening shift Monday - Thursday 12:30 - 10p
- Must be able to work on-call requirement: a week of overnight and weekend call about every 4-5 weeks
- Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
- Must be able to prepare patients for procedures
- Must be able to review medical history, positions patients and cleans/shaves/numbs testing sites as appropriate
- Must be able to interpret, describe and report test results; recognize recording errors and artifacts and react appropriately
- Must be able to prepare and maintain equipment, supplies and lab area and ensure equipment is properly functioning
- Must be able to report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel
- Must be able to lock/tag out equipment if appropriate
- Must be able to assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department
- Must be able to prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations
- Must be able to observe patient during procedure and report abnormal activity
- Must be able to monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as warranted
- Must be able to follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines
- Must be able to ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards
- Must be able to perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures
- Must be able to work with constant standing and walking
- Must be able to use vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more)
- Must be able to use hearing and speech to share information through oral communication
- Must be able to use hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc
- Must be able to lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing 0-25 lbs
- Must be able to lift/move of patients
- Must be able to reach, grip and keyboard use/data entry
- Must be able to lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing 25-50 lbs (occasional)
- Must be able to use vision to identify and distinguish colors (occasional)
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, twist and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements (occasional)
