Job Summary
Report, shoot, write, voice, edit, and feed news production content for all platforms, ensuring clarity, engagement, and journalistic integrity. Arrange interviews, review copy for accuracy, and isolate pertinent facts from event notes to determine story emphasis and format. Research background information, pitch stories to managers, and evaluate leads to develop story ideas. Shoot and edit news events, produce reports for broadcast and web, and interact with viewers on social media. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, two years of reporting experience, and the ability to work any shift. Nexstar Media Group produces and distributes engaging local and national news, sports, and entertainment content across television and digital platforms.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
- Minimum two years' experience in news reporting (Depending on market size)
- Superior on-air presence
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work any shift
