Job Summary
Research, pitch, shoot, write, edit, and present stories for daily newscasts and digital platforms while delivering live reports with clarity and urgency. Build and maintain community sources, actively engage viewers on social media, and collaborate with producers to develop impactful content under tight deadlines. This full-time role at KLEW-TV in Lewiston, Idaho, requires flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates will work with non-linear editing software and apply strong news judgment in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, preferred
- 1-2 years of reporting experience preferred, but not required
- Preferable to be able to shoot and edit with non-linear editing software (Edius, Premier, or Final Cut Pro)
- Strong news judgement and storytelling skills
- Ability to produce content under deadline pressure
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with AP style and newsroom content management systems is a plus
- A passion for news and a drive to win
