Multimedia Communications Specialist

Job Summary
Write and edit news stories, posts, and website content highlighting school experiences and traditions. Serve as the primary photographer and videographer, capturing class activities, events, and staff headshots while recording and editing video for long- and short-form use, including reels and the Bond of Brothers podcast. Develop organic social media content, manage the posting calendar, schedule posts, monitor engagement, and respond to comments. Coordinate photo and video shoots, arrange vendors, and organize the school's media archive. Maintain the public-facing website calendar, update staff directories, and manage email signatures. Because school life extends beyond the regular day, this position includes occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field
- Exceptional writing and proofreading skills
- Experience in photography, videography, and editing tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Vimeo, etc.
- Capable of using DSLR cameras, smartphones, and mics for recording
- Able to follow branding guidelines
- Experience managing social media for business use, including the use of scheduling tools and analytics
- Comfortable working in website content management systems
- Ability to meet deadlines and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, vendors, and the SAA community
- Because school life extends beyond the regular day, this position includes occasional evening and weekend responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an independent school, non-profit environment is a plus
- A collaborative spirit with a genuine desire to capture the life of our school
