Job Summary

Multicraft Technician II at GAF is responsible for safely completing a wide range of advanced multicraft tasks in a manufacturing facility, including mechanical, electrical, and HVAC maintenance; performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting machine drives and conveying systems, reading blueprints and schematics, and conducting root cause failure analysis to improve equipment uptime. The role requires skilled welding, millwright work, repair of power transmission components, and collaboration with maintenance and production teams to uphold safety, quality, and efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of 480V systems and their controls
  • Ability to read instructions, blueprints, and manuals
  • Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix/RSLogix 5000 is a definite plus
  • Ability to operate a manual mill and lathe
  • Welding experience including MIG and Rod
  • Knowledge of vibration analysis, infrared thermography, and ultrasound analysis (preferred)

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in related field (preferred)
  • NFPA 70e certification (preferred)
  • Experience with Allen Bradley ControlLogix/RSLogix 5000 (preferred)
  • 3+ years industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and manuals
  • Proficient in welding (MIG and rods)
  • Experience with vibration analysis, infrared thermography, ultrasound analysis
  • Knowledge of 480V systems and controls
  • Experience operating a manual mill and lathe
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and facility maintenance skills
  • Root cause failure analysis
  • Basic troubleshooting of conveyors and machine drives
  • Experience with Maximo or similar CMMS
  • Safety-focused with knowledge of 5S principles
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance expertise
  • Troubleshooting of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Electrical troubleshooting and reading schematics
  • Preventive maintenance planning and execution
  • Industrial maintenance in high-volume manufacturing
  • Welding and fabrication skills
  • Pipe systems installation and repair
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems troubleshooting
  • Quality and productivity-driven mindset
