Job Summary
The Multi-Skilled Operator will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and modification of critical building systems in a high-risk data center environment, including mechanical (HVAC, chillers, plumbing), electrical (UPS, DC battery systems, PDU, generators, transfer switches, switchgear), cabling, fire detection and life-safety, lighting, and building management systems, plus digital systems (fire alarm, duress, card access, CCTV). Duties include completing planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance, conducting inspections of HVAC and electrical systems, responding to indoor emergencies and air quality concerns, creating and tracking work requests, monitoring contractor performance, and delivering data center services (colocation, connectivity, and customer support) while coordinating with vendors and third-party contractors. Requires strong operational conduct, teamwork, and the ability to support IT infrastructure and network services, with a focus on reliability and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Driver’s License
- Strong observation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40lbs
- Ability to climb ladders and stand for long periods
- Ability to work in varied environments and weather conditions
