Job Summary
Ensure continuous production and eliminate engineering downtime through safe, logical fault finding and reactive maintenance of equipment at the Mells manufacturing site. Perform mechanical fitting, welding, fabrication, and general machining while maintaining hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and motors. Conduct routine maintenance activities and defect rectification, reading technical drawings as required. Apply strong mechanical knowledge with electrical engineering experience to support the Building Products Civils & Drainage division.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified, apprentice trained and/or time served in a similar position ideally to NVQ level 3
- Experience in reactive and planned maintenance of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors (belts, chain, rollers, bearings, gear boxes, motors etc.)
- Able to read technical drawings
- Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements
- Experience in mechanical fault finding, defect rectification and routine maintenance activities
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written
- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
- Double days, 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm
