Job Summary
Operate multiple heavy equipment at a Fort McMurray, AB open pit mine (Kearl site) as a permanent Multiskilled Operator on a 14/14 FIFO schedule with camp accommodations and flights from Calgary or Edmonton. Work with heavy machinery including an excavator (450+), a D10+ dozer, and a 24M grader; ensure safety, quality, and teamwork on each shift. Demonstrate ground-work experience, English communication, and compliance with safety orientations and testing; travel readiness and ability to train on new equipment are required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience operating multiple heavy equipment in open pit mining (2,000+ hours on 450+ excavator, 2,000+ hours on D10+ dozer, 2,000+ hours on 24M grader)
- Groundwork experience
- CSO or BSO (Common Safety Orientation from Energy Safety Canada or OSSA Basic Safety Orientation)
- Physically capable for demanding tasks in various conditions
- Able to train on new equipment
- Clean 3-year drivers abstract with under 9 demerits
- Proficient in English (written and verbal)
- Drug and alcohol testing required due to safety sensitive position
