Job Summary
Senior Medical Assistant position supporting multi-site primary care clinics. Responsibilities include assisting with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, and dressing changes; handling patient check-in/out, appointment scheduling, and verification of medical necessity and eligibility for care; contributing to revenue cycle activities and front-end registration as needed. Demonstrates advanced EMR skills and acts as an EMR super-user. Maintains quality and compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, NCQA, and government standards; collaborates with physicians, APPs, nurses, and the interprofessional care team to coordinate patient flow and care. Requires five years of medical assistant experience (with complex or chronic disease management) and CERTIFIED Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant or EMT with BLS; strong communication, analytical, and computer skills; ability to provide safe, patient-centered care and support continuous improvement in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
- Five years medical assistant experience with highly complex, chronic disease management or in a specialty discipline to include patient services representative experience
- Certified Medical Assistant through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, NHA or Registered Medical Assistant or EMT and BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent (High School diploma or equivalent education)
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members and coworkers; strong customer service and scheduling skills
- Proficiency in computer skills for documentation and EMR systems; ability to maintain accurate medical records and perform scheduling/registration data entry; knowledge of CLIA, HIPAA and NCQA standards
