Job Summary
Set up for service and serve food and beverages to guests while ensuring tables are properly set prior to seating. Greet guests in a friendly manner, explain specials and menu items in detail, and take orders inputting them correctly into the POS system. Retrieve orders from the kitchen and deliver them accurately, determining guest satisfaction and taking necessary steps based on feedback. Keep restaurant and work areas clean, handle guest complaints and disputes with composure, and resolve issues to satisfactory results. Work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends, and holidays in both indoor and outdoor settings with events often taking place in the elements.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work well with a large group of people in a team environment
- Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
- Ability to handle guest complaints and disputes and resolve them to satisfactory results
- Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, days, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent communication and guest relation skills in English
- Ability to listen to, understand and clarify concerns and issues raised by team members and guests
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Normal vision (corrected), hearing and verbal communication
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to reach, kneel, push, pull, carry, lift and move objects 50 lbs. or more
- Normal hearing
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings
- Ability to work in all four seasons
- Ability to work in environments with loud music
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations and preparation, with a good focus on wine
