Job Summary
Perform radiographic and computed tomographic exams under Radiologist direction, prioritizing patient safety and applying ionizing radiation with independent judgment. Transfer and position patients for examinations, select proper technical factors, and operate CT equipment to capture diagnostic images of internal organs. Assist physicians by mixing contrast media, administering opaque media, and performing sterile procedures while obtaining patient history to ensure ALARA compliance. Maintain a positive atmosphere, practice sterile techniques, report equipment failures, and maintain professional records. Rotate within X-Ray and CT departments across various shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Graduated from a JCERT accredited school or program specific to Radiologic Technology
- Must be competent in all routine diagnostic procedures, including but not limited to: Routine, Fluoroscopic, OR, Trauma, Portable radiographs or fluoroscopy; limited specials such as Myelograms, Venograms, arthrograms, IVP's, etc.
- Routine Computed Tomographic exams, and Image Guided Procedures
- Minimum ARRT (R)
- CT to be obtained within 1 year of employment
- Licensed by Washington State
- BLS Required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for rotating shifts
- Must be able to work various shifts
- Must be able to maintain professional appearance by adhering to Dress and Grooming Policy and Dress Code of Diagnostic Imaging Services
- Must be compliant with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements
- Must be compliant with Nationals Standards of Continuing Education
