Job Summary
Multilingual Learner Instructional Assistant supports the MLL program under the supervision of the principal and MLL teacher. The role provides targeted academic support to Spanish- and other-language-speaking students to strengthen math and reading skills, collaborates with teachers to implement push-in small group instruction, translates documents and provides language interpretation for conferences and meetings, assists with enrollment and family communications, and helps monitor student progress while maintaining student confidentiality.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- Interpretation certification preferred
- Proficient in the use of technology
- Effective oral and written communication skills in both languages
- Collaborate with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment
- Provide language services to students, staff, and families of the district
- Assist Spanish-speaking students and their families with school enrollment process
- Translate school documents/newsletters and other written communication
- Provide oral interpretation for conferences, IEP meetings, and phone calls as needed
- Maintain confidentiality about students
- Participate in professional development
- Other responsibilities as assigned
