Job Summary
Develop manufacturing processes to fabricate MLI and spacecraft textile parts; own process development, build, test, and integration for flight and development hardware; generate soft goods standards, work instructions, and process specifications; design tooling and shop aids; collaborate with technicians and outside vendors; specify, purchase, and implement equipment; develop and implement shop floor layouts for new production cells; engage in development projects to test feasibility of new part designs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in mechanical engineering, materials engineering, aerospace engineering, or a similar field
- 5+ years of direct hands-on manufacturing experience in a production and/or development environment
- 2+ years of direct hands-on experience with part fabrication utilizing MLI’s and soft goods
- Proficiency with CAD software and the ability to learn new tools
Additional Requirements
- U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State (ITAR)
