Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of a multifamily residential property to maintain high occupancy and tenant satisfaction. Manage leasing strategies, approve applications, coordinate move-ins/move-outs, and market the property through online platforms and local outreach. Maintain positive resident relationships, enforce community rules, and coordinate regular maintenance, repairs, and property inspections. Prepare operating budgets, manage accounts payable/receivable, monitor rent collection, and hire, train, and supervise on-site staff including leasing agents and maintenance technicians. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while maintaining accurate records and submitting required reports. On-site presence is required, with occasional evening or weekend hours for emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency with property management software
- Knowledge of landlord/tenant laws and fair housing regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or related field
- Ability to pass background checks
- On-site presence
- Occasional evening/weekend hours for emergencies or resident needs
- Physical ability to walk the property, climb stairs, and inspect units
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a multifamily setting
- Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or related field preferred
- Experience with affordable housing properties - LIHTC and HUD preferred
- Certified Property Manager (CPM), Accredited Residential Manager (ARM), or similar certification is a plus
