Job Summary
Fabricate tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures by analyzing specifications and operating machine tools to execute complex mechanical and structural work. Interpret drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine materials and installation requirements for frames, platforms, and specialty structures. Support equipment reconfiguration, relocation, and commissioning activities, including rigging and material handling, while coordinating with customers, engineers, and vendors to complete tasks safely and on schedule. Maintain accurate work logs, job documentation, and material receipts, and manage inventory by ordering parts and tracking components. Operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment to perform preventive and corrective maintenance that minimizes downtime. Provide technical guidance to less experienced personnel and adhere to all safety policies and regulatory requirements. Requires 5-7 years of progressive multi-craft experience in an industrial or laboratory environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- 5-7 years of progressive experience in a multi-craft, mechanical, industrial, laboratory, or facilities support role
- Demonstrated experience performing complex, cross-disciplinary trade work in an industrial or technical environment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Desired Qualifications
