Job Summary
The Multi-Craft Technician performs advanced fabrication, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair across mechanical, structural, piping, and equipment-related work in industrial or laboratory environments. Responsible for interpreting drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions to determine materials and installation requirements; supporting equipment reconfiguration, relocation, and commissioning (including rigging and material handling); performing preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and improve reliability; coordinating with customers, engineers, supervisors, and vendors to complete work safely, accurately, and on schedule; maintaining accurate logs, work orders, documentation, and material receipts; ordering materials and assisting with inventory control; operating hand and power tools and shop equipment; adhering to all safety policies and regulatory requirements; providing guidance to less experienced trades personnel when needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in a relative field a plus; 5-7 years of progressive experience in a multi-craft, mechanical, industrial, laboratory, or facilities support role; ability to interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work instructions; valid driver’s license; trade certifications/training preferred but not required; ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating and maintenance instructions; ability to communicate effectively with customers, engineers, and vendors; experience with document control and time tracking; knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen is a plus
