Job Summary
Explain exams to patients based on age-specific needs to minimize anxiety and optimize results. Position, immobilize, and image patients using approved protocols for x-ray, MRI, and CT procedures. Determine proper exposure factors, verify informed consent, and access patient records via RIS and PACS. Independently operate equipment, administer contrast agents, and monitor patients while adhering to ALARA standards. Corroborate clinical histories and prepare patients for procedures to ensure desired outcomes. Maintain current NJ diagnostic radiography license, ARRT certification, and BLS/CPR certification while passing annual respirator fit tests.
Required Qualifications
- current NJ Department of Environmental Protection Diagnostic Radiography license
- current ARRT certification or be ARRT eligible
- If ARRT eligible, must attain certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain throughout employment
- Two (2) years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology
- Computer literacy
- valid certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR
- ability to pass a medical evaluation and a respirator fit test
- ability to wear an N95 particulate filter respirator mask in accordance with PEOSHA standards as a condition of employment
- Annual Respirator Fit Testing
- certification in the service to which the candidate is applying MRI
- certification in the service to which the candidate is applying Cat Scan (CT)
- certification in the service to which the candidate is applying Angiography
