Job Summary
Database Administrator for a Multi-Cloud Operations Centre responsible for leading database architecture and administration across cloud ecosystems. Key duties include designing scalable database architectures, implementing performance monitoring and tuning, optimizing backup/recovery strategies, capacity planning across Production/QA/Dev/ DR environments, developing complex ETL with SSIS, ensuring high availability (replication, clustering) and disaster recovery, and participating in 24x7 on-call support. Requires extensive experience with MS SQL Server (including replication and security), familiarity with Windows and Linux, and hands-on use of automation/DevOps tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes). Strong communication, collaboration with IT teams, and a customer-service mindset are essential; preferred candidates hold Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in CS/Engineering or equivalent, and certifications across Azure/AWS/GCP with ITIL foundations.
Required Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in Cloud infrastructure and network engineering
- Completed training & Certifications in Azure, AWS and GCP
- Associates level 7 years of experience developing, maintaining, and administering MS SQL Server databases
- Experience configuring SQL Server replication
- Knowledge of cluster management (nodes, replication, multi-DC)
- Experience with monitoring, capacity planning and data management strategies
- Experience in database backup and recovery, connectivity and security, and role management
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Proficiency with Ansible and Terraform
- Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with AIOps and observability tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a projects-based, team environment
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent experience
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- ITIL Foundation or equivalent
- Be willing to participate in a hybrid-friendly culture
