Job Summary
MTSS Lead Teacher coordinates and facilitates the comprehensive MTSS across grade levels, providing targeted guidance to staff to implement a three-tiered instructional and behavioral model, support fidelity of MTSS practices, and address discipline referrals with data-driven strategies. The role requires staying current with research, best practices, and state guidance, collaborating with teachers to implement research-based, tiered intervention practices, and performing additional duties as assigned by the principal or supervisor. The position emphasizes leadership in MTSS implementation within DeSoto County Schools at Southaven Middle and requires a valid Mississippi teaching license, minimum of three years of classroom teaching, and preferred administrator licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mississippi teaching license
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience
- Administrator License preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of MTSS interventions and general education instruction
