Job Summary
Modify and adapt the K12 curriculum to meet unique student needs, collaborate with general education teachers for small group sessions, and educate parents on instructional strategies. Oversee data collection and progress monitoring at every tier of the RTI system, using insights to guide whole and small group instruction planning. Provide ongoing training to staff on RTI implementation, support teachers in documenting student progress, and work with the special education team to facilitate eligibility determinations. Serve as a daily resource to administrators and stakeholders regarding RTI issues while coordinating Tier 2 interventions with homeroom teachers, advisors, and counselors. This full-time virtual role requires 40+ hours per week, typically 9-5, with up to 20% travel for professional development and testing.
Required Qualifications
- North Carolina Middle Math Teaching Certification
- Must reside in North Carolina
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions
- Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms
- Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs and curriculum
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school
