Job Summary
Collaborate with administrative staff, faculty, and parents to implement Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for academics and behavior while enhancing positive school culture. Manage student supervision, investigate conduct violations, and assign consequences including detention and in-school suspension. Conduct home visits to improve attendance and assist teachers in developing age-appropriate behavior management plans. Document behavioral offenses in Skyward, communicate attendance trends, and supervise the in-school suspension program. Provide supervision at extracurricular events and assist in writing grants related to student management. This role supports the Pawtucket School Department's School Improvement Plan goals and requires knowledge of Rhode Island laws and MTSS processes. A valid teaching certificate and driver's license are required.
Required Qualifications
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Rhode Island driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the District
- A valid Rhode Island teaching certificate in a field of secondary education
- Experience at the secondary school level
- Knowledge of the related Laws of Rhode Island
- Knowledge of the BEP
- Knowledge of the policies, regulations, and procedures of the Pawtucket School Department
- Knowledge of the policies, regulations, and procedures of the Rhode Island Department of Education
- Knowledge of Title 1 School-wide Program Requirements under ESSA
- Knowledge of School Improvement Plan Goals/ Action Steps Evaluation and accountability processes
- Knowledge of Principles of effective management and engaging instruction which enhance school success
- Knowledge of Response to Intervention Processes/ MTSS (Academic/Behavioral)
- Knowledge of Principles of teaching and learning- research-based
- Knowledge of Data Analysis Techniques
- Knowledge of Effective Peer Mediation Processes
- Knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies
- Knowledge of Effective classroom management strategies
- Knowledge of Effective strategies for fostering a positive school culture
- Knowledge of Professional learning community organization and protocols
- Knowledge of Instructional materials and their relationship to program goals and objectives
- Knowledge of Research and use of instructional technology/ data analysis in Skyward for Behavior Incident Reports /Attendance Reports
- Knowledge of E-RIDE: Attendance Trend Data
- Knowledge of Guiding Students in positive decision making
- Knowledge of Working innovatively and self-motivated
- Knowledge of Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
- Knowledge of Working with parents and community stakeholders
- Knowledge of Public speaking, writing, listening, problem-solving, and working with individuals and groups through the coaching cycle
- Knowledge of Guiding teachers/ faculty in positive behavior interventions and reinforcement of research-based strategies
