Job Summary
Design and optimize silicon photonic devices (passive and active, e.g., high-speed/balanced photodetectors) for application-oriented PDK development; independently perform device characterization to verify performance and conduct device analysis; provide technical support on PDK-related questionnaires; file patents for Silicon Photonics devices; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams from photonics and FAB; duties vary with project progress and may include contributing to safety and EHS responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D in photonics, electrical engineering, physics, or related field
- Practical knowledge of optical science and/or photonics technology
- Practical knowledge in electrical and optical measurement of optical chip devices and systems
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to think and strategize to complete experimental projects
- Accountability, multitasking, and prioritization
- Team-oriented collaboration
