Job Summary
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Quality Management Program throughout the design and construction phases of a major transit design-build project. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining the Quality Management Plan, overseeing quality in design and construction, managing QC inspectors, enforcing NCR procedures, conducting audits, and coordinating with various project managers. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree and significant experience in quality management, specifically in transit projects, with familiarity in CBTC and ISO 9001.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in quality management or QA/QC on major infrastructure or transit projects
- Minimum 5 years in a Quality Manager or QA/QC Program Lead role
- Prior experience on MTA, NYCT, or other major transit authority projects strongly required
- Direct experience with design-build project delivery preferred
- Demonstrated understanding of CBTC, rail signal systems, or transit electrical/mechanical systems strongly preferred
- Familiarity with MTA Capital Construction quality standards and procedures
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
- Proficiency in construction document control systems and project management software
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM) – ASQ or equivalent
- CCM (Certified Construction Manager) – CMAA
- OSHA 30 Construction
