Job Summary
Conduct developmental, trauma-informed coaching with parents in foster care and group home settings while co-facilitating therapeutic parent support groups. Deliver individual and group therapeutic sessions for children under five to enhance socio-emotional skills, attachment, and emotional regulation. Observe, assess, and document child development and relational dynamics; conduct needs assessments to identify pressing family resources. Provide referrals to clinical providers, maintain caseloads of five clients and two groups weekly, and ensure accurate clinical documentation including weekly process recordings. Participate in weekly clinical supervision and bi-monthly interdisciplinary group supervision. Collaborate with caseworkers, educators, and mental health professionals across visiting rooms, classrooms, and play centers to support family engagement and child welfare.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master's of Social Work direct practice program
- Approaching second/final year of program
- Foundational understanding of child development
- Foundational understanding of attachment theory
- Foundational understanding of family systems theory
- Foundational understanding of trauma-informed care
- Experience with or enthusiasm for working with infants, toddlers, children under the age of five years old and their caregivers
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary, community-based setting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong observation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
Desired Qualifications
- Strong interest in infant and early childhood mental health in a community based setting
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates
