Job Summary
MSW Clinical Intern – Homeless Youth & Young Adult (HYYA) department internship focused on trauma-informed, equity-focused services for youth/young adults ages 18–25 facing homelessness or housing insecurity. Responsibilities include one-on-one and group support, biopsychosocial assessments under supervision, co-facilitation/observation of case management and street outreach, documentation, supervision participation, and applying trauma-informed, restorative practices and positive youth development. Learning goals emphasize building clinical social work skills, understanding homelessness/systemic inequity, navigating direct practice with macro-level systems, and gaining experience with Coordinated Entry, Housing First, and youth engagement strategies. Supervisory structure includes weekly clinical supervision and ongoing support; internship is part-time, semester-based, unpaid, and located in Rochester, NH and Manchester, NH with relevant facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program (2nd-year or advanced standing preferred)
- Eligible to participate in a clinical internship through their university
- Interest in youth homelessness, social justice, and trauma-informed practice
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Must pass a background check and complete onboarding requirements
