Job Summary
Conduct equipment installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance to ensure properties meet established standards and applicable laws. Schedule, prioritize, and ensure timely completion of all work orders, including HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and appliance repairs. Perform site-level inspections, prepare vacant units, and collaborate with vendor teams on identified projects. Maintain workshop inventory of hand tools and parts, while providing on-call emergency services and mentoring new technicians. Comply with safety program requirements and handle multiple tasks with self-direction. Requires four years of multi-family or commercial building maintenance experience, a two-year technical degree, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment
- Regular lifting of more than 20 lbs
- Frequent lifting of up to 80 lbs with assistance
- High school graduate or equivalent
- 2-year Technical Degree or equivalent work experience
- Four years multi-family or commercial building maintenance or equivalent experience
- Intermediate computer skills including ability to send & receive emails, enter hours worked on internet-based system, and access/perform data entry in Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Excel
- Ability to communicate effectively both written & orally
- Good interpersonal skills
- Valid driver's license
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to use tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous manner when dealing with co-workers and the public
- Decision-making, problem solving, and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously with self-direction
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
