Job Summary

Develop and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers, and researchers in psychiatry to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on AbbVie products. Present data to healthcare professionals and serve as an internal resource for developing disease-state communications that are medically accurate and consistent with regulatory guidelines. Support research initiatives, Round Table sessions, and Advisory Board meetings while conducting ongoing training for internal medical affairs and field sales teams. Maintain annual expenses within budget parameters and ensure all activities comply with internal and regulatory requirements. Must possess problem-solving skills to translate territory needs into actionable objectives, with proficiency in scientific storytelling and active listening.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (i.e., Pharm D, MD/DO, PhD, APP) in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Doctorate in a health science or clinical discipline
  • Minimum 3-year total specific industry experience (pharma, device, etc)
  • Minimum 4 years post professional degree practice or relevant transferable experience (clinical practice, academic research, regulatory/scientific)
  • Previous MSL experience
  • Problem solving and analytic skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point, and other software skills
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply foundational skills in Scientific Storytelling, Identifying Mobilizers and Active Listening
  • Ability to learn and convey clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively
  • Ability to engage the audience and help them understand and retain information
  • Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Must live in the territory or willing to self-relocate within the territory
  • Must possess problem solving and analytic skills to be able to identify, and translate specific territory and corporate needs, into an action that will achieve objectives
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
  • Must be able to effectively manage the team's quarterly review cycle
  • Must be able to effectively manage the team's annual expenses within assigned budget parameters
  • Must be able to accurately and timely document above activities
