Job Summary
MSHS C1 Frosh Girls Volleyball Coach at Mt Spokane High School (1-year replacement) for Fall 2026-2027. Responsibilities include instructing athletes on techniques, rules, and safety; developing and organizing a practice program and scheduling practices (3:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.); supervising athletes during practices, games, camps, and travel; promoting the interscholastic athletic program; modeling ethical conduct; fostering sportsmanship; ensuring required documentation and medical examinations are completed; communicating with parents regarding team rules and athletic department guidelines; adhering to district and WIAA policies; ensuring athlete health plans are followed; and completing required trainings (First Aid/CPR, WIAA clinics). Head Coach duties may include assisting the athletic director with scheduling, evaluating assistant coaches, assigning duties, managing playing time with input from assistants, and maintaining standards of pupil behavior. Qualifications emphasize age requirements, certification, understanding of safety practices, planning ability, positive attitude toward students, and reliability with scheduling. Required Qualifications
- Must be 19 or older for Assistant Coach and 21 or older for Head Coach
- Must have current First Aid/CPR certification or be able to acquire it by the start of the season
- Understand the activity/sport, its safety practices, techniques, rules, and progression of skill development
- Be able to plan practices and events, and organize all the necessary materials and personnel to carry out the activity
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward students and the ability to motivate them toward developing a successful program
- Be able to consistently meet schedule responsibilities for practice, coaching preparation, competition, and related activities
