Job Summary
Oversees and coordinates concrete construction activities including forming, installing reinforcing steel, conveying, pouring, finishing and curing concrete for structures such as buildings, bridges, highways, and dams. Reads specifications sheets to ensure correct aggregate sizes and cement-water proportions, inspects brace/shoring for form stability, directs placement of pouring chutes and equipment, and trains new workers. Requires ability to read safety rules and mechanical/layout drawings, perform algebra and geometry, and apply practical problem-solving in a physically demanding, production-oriented environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent years of experience
- 2 to 4 years of experience in concrete construction
- ability to read specs and dimensions
- physical endurance for standing/walking
- read safety rules and operate tools
- train new workers
