Job Summary
Lead the COMPASS afterschool program at MS129 Academy by providing overall leadership, supervising staff, and developing age-appropriate activities. Manage program and staff scheduling, conduct outreach for enrollment, and ensure site safety while facilitating weekly meetings. Deliver daily crisis intervention for participants and liaise with school staff to coordinate educational programming. Monitor the program budget, track compliance with regulatory standards, and complete required documentation reports. Build community partnerships to connect families with essential support services and facilitate mandatory training for all supervisees.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Child Development or New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential or; School-Age Child Care Credential or; Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or Related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth development programs and supervision
- Must be able to engage in crisis intervention activities
- Must be able to demonstrate, lead and teach a range of group activities
- Must be available for weekend training requirements
- Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective
