MS Unified Sports/Special Olympics Coach - Weeks

Job Summary
Conduct year-round sports training and athletic competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities across Olympic-type sports. Teach athletes, develop individualized training sequences, and manage season and practice planning while monitoring behavior challenges and reinforcing sportsmanship. Coordinate with parents, other coaches, and volunteers to maintain a safe environment, provide emergency provisions, and support athlete independence and self-confidence. Deliver positive reinforcement focused on effort and goal achievement to foster courage, joy, and community participation.
Required Qualifications
- Current Class A Volunteer Status through Special Olympics
- Current certificate of concussion training
- Current coaching certification through Special Olympics for at least 3 sports (specific to the sports assigned to coach in this position)
- Attend work on a prompt and regular basis
- Maintain confidentiality
- Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees
- All candidates offered a position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check
- All candidates offered a position will be required to successfully pass a child and adult abuse registry check
