Job Summary
Provide special education instruction and develop or modify curricula and materials to support students with special needs. Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through the ARD process, implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill-development programs, tailor instructional strategies to individual learning styles, work with regular-education peers when appropriate, participate in ARD meetings, use technology to enhance learning, supervise teacher aides/volunteers, assess student growth, manage behavior, and communicate effectively with families and the school community. Ensure compliance with IEP guidelines and district policies while supporting the mission of the school.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments
- ESL Certification within one year of employment
- Teaching certification held in multiple areas is preferred
- At least one year of student teaching or an approved internship
- Special Knowledge / ARD/IEP processes knowledge
