Job Summary
Middle School Soccer Coach position responsible for leading and supporting the middle school soccer program under the supervision of the Athletic Director/Program Head. Instruct players on rules, equipment, and techniques; organize and direct individual and small group practices; assess skills; determine game strategy; supervise athletes during practices and competitions; model sportsmanship; transport athletes to practices/games; maintain eligibility records; support student-athlete academic progress; ensure safety. Requires Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least two years of soccer coaching experience; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with a diverse community; flexibility with on-campus hours including Sundays, nights, and early mornings.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred and at least two years of soccer coaching experience
- Experience with student programs in a middle school setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the specified sports program
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments
