Job Summary
Conduct prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal care while diagnosing and managing high-risk pregnancies and gynecological conditions. Perform surgeries including cesarean sections, hysterectopies, and laparoscopic procedures, and handle obstetric emergencies such as pre-eclampsia and fetal distress. Provide counseling for infertility, menstrual irregularities, and reproductive health challenges, alongside patient education on contraception and family planning. Mentor medical interns and junior staff, document patient histories, and contribute to research, publications, and departmental policy formulation. Schedule is based on shifts with rotational duties.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Obstetrics and Gynecology (MS or equivalent): A postgraduate degree from a recognized institution
- Medical License: Must hold a valid medical license to practice in the region/country
- Residency Training: Completion of a residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology is often mandatory
- Clinical Experience: Prior experience working in a hospital, clinic, or maternity ward, including managing obstetric emergencies, gynecological procedures, and prenatal care
- Surgical Skills: Proficiency in performing common OB-GYN procedures such as cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and laparoscopic surgeries
- Patient Management: Excellent skills in managing diverse patient populations, including high-risk pregnancies
- Strong communication skills to counsel patients and families
- Team collaboration with nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals
- Compliance with Medical Standards: Adherence to local and international healthcare regulations
- Ethical Practice: Commitment to ethical care, including patient confidentiality and informed consent
- Office time: Based on Shift
