Job Summary
Middle School Math Teacher responsible for designing standards-aligned lessons across ratios, proportional reasoning, expressions, equations, geometry, and probability; uses data-driven instruction to monitor progress and adjust strategies; differentiates instruction; integrates technology and hands-on activities; fosters problem-solving and mathematical reasoning; builds strong student relationships, supports SEL, communicates with families, and ensures safety; collaborates with grade-level teams, curriculum coaches, and staff; engages in ongoing professional development and school-wide initiatives; requires a Bachelor’s degree and NC teaching licensure eligibility; NC urban-education focus; salary and benefits provided
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (required)
- Valid teaching license or eligibility for licensure in North Carolina (preferred)
- Experience teaching middle school math or related coursework (preferred but not required)
- Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to high expectations for all students
- Passion for urban education and a commitment to closing the achievement gap
